That Was Then (Rambling)

All humans started out as pure and innocent. From the time we grew in our mother's womb to the time we first laid eyes upon this world. We were all naive. Thinking everyone is good. Thinking everyone would be there for us until one day things turn out to be the opposite of what we expected. We get crushed, wondering "Why? Why did this happen to me? What did I do to deserve all this?"
When we were little kids...everything seemed okay, everything seemed like paradise, no corruption, no worries, no stress, no suffering, no rage, no depression, all peace...Pretty much all we did was eat, sleep, laugh, and play...but "that was then". As we got older, our environments, whatever substance or material we consume into our bodies and lives, and the very people surrounding us, they mold us, shape us, and we become what we are today. Influential factors can really change a person for the better...or for worse.
All humans started out as pure and innocent, but that won't last forever...for even the most innocent angel to befall upon this Earth will one day go corrupt. As my grandma used to always tell me, planet Earth is hell. So then...would it be possible to turn planet Earth into heaven? Or at least give it balance? One remarkable thing about being human is that we're dynamic—we have the ability to adapt, make worthy decisions, and change. For even though we can no longer be originally pure as we once were, we can still renew ourselves and become a better human being each day. And a key to improving this world, as well as restoring world peace, is to become a better human being by making wise and worthy decisions. We can once again be innocent, all-good, compassionate, fulfilled—happily laughing like we did in our cribs or while being lifted in our parents'/guardians' hands.
"That was then", and "this is now". The power and answer to how our destiny, our future, and our world unravel is mainly within our own hands. We can either abuse it or use it. PS: This was meant to be both a poem and rambling so please excuse all grammatical errors. Thank you.
